Pacific Art (2006)
Acrylic, newspaper, PVA glue on canvas.
- Originally produced for What’s Going On – A collaborative live art project with Leilani Kake at Fresh Gallery Ōtara, October / November 2006.
- Purchased by Manukau City Council, 2006.
- The concept of what is defined ‘Pacific art’ has underpinned much of the curatorial work Tavola has produced. In 2015, she curated an exhibition called, That’s Not Pacific Art at the barber and tattoo studio of Tongan artist, Stan Lolohea. They discussed the exhibition with Justin Gregory for Radio New Zealand (7 August 2015) here.
